An exceptionally deliberate and careful designer, Tony loves the puzzle of putting a building together, layering design options in different configurations until the ideal solutions click into place. Skilled at working in nuanced details such as refining a building’s structure or mechanical system, Tony won’t rest until a project looks and feels just right.
Particularly interested in designing buildings in a sustainable way, Tony has been a volunteer with the AIA Portland Committee on the Environment (COTE) since 2005, where he met his wife. He’s currently working with COTE and the City of Portland on the Green Project Atlas, a website showcasing sustainable development in the Portland Metro region.
Tony loves visting the Lower Deschutes River with his wife, camping and flyfishing for for steelhead and trout. He also enjoys playing guitar and banjo, mostly working out covers of his favorite bands at home. He is currently trying to move past his Mississippi John Hurt/Elizabeth Cotton fingerstyle guitar fixation and venture closer to Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, and John Lennon territory.
